Glass-Ting Impression: A Cocktail of Creativity and Connection

Last week, I found myself in Chennai, not for a business meeting or a conference, but for a rather unconventional invitation: to mix drinks at a private party hosted by my IIM Bangalore classmate.

Being a professional cocktail mixologist, I’ve had my fair share of behind-the-bar adventures. From classic cocktails like Martinis and Negronis to my own creations like The Rosso, Zen, and Aria, I’ve always enjoyed the art of crafting the perfect drink.

As it turns out, my passion for mixology had left an impression on my friend. He remembered a casual conversation we had and decided I was the perfect person to host the bar at his exclusive event.

The party was a gathering of around 80 business associates and high-profile guests, mostly men. I wanted to make this a night they wouldn’t forget, a lasting impression. And that’s when the idea struck me: the Glass-Ting Impression.

As I prepared each cocktail, I placed the glass on a white watercolor paper with splashes of color. As I mixed the ingredients, the glass left its mark on the paper, creating a unique and personalized piece of art. At the end of the night, I presented these artworks to the guests as a memento.

There’s a marketing lesson to be learned here. Every interaction, no matter how small, is an opportunity to engage with your audience. With a little creativity, you can find innovative ways to connect and leave a lasting impression.

For me, it was simply a fun night catching up with an old friend. But sometimes, the most unexpected experiences can lead to the most memorable moments. And that’s why I’m sharing this story with you: no known reason, just a little inspiration.
